A Slower Side of Phnom Penh

Most people think of Phnom Penh as a busy, fast-paced city. But in Chrouy Changvar, a small corner across the river, life moves differently.

This is where Activate C3 Hostel (AC3) is located. Mornings are quieter, the pace is slower, and everyday scenes like monks walking through the neighborhood are part of daily life.

At AC3, we are guided by three simple principles: connectivity, culture, and community. As a small hostel with a big heart, we aim to create meaningful experiences for our guests while supporting the people around us.

Since May 2025, we have provided job opportunities for local students and residents, helping support household income while offering hands-on experience in tourism and cultural exchange. We also encourage guests to experience local culture naturally, from visiting the nearby pagoda to observing the calm rhythm of the neighborhood.

In our daily operations, we support the local economy by buying fresh groceries from the wet market and working closely with nearby small shops. These small, everyday choices help strengthen our connection with the community we call home.

This moment was captured by our guest, Marianarei , during a quiet morning in the neighborhood.
